January 2011 – Business dispute – San Antonio
Represented small business anesthesia provider in lawsuit against largest anesthesia group in San Antonio and local hospital system involving claims of tortious interference with business relationships, breach of contract and business fraud. February 2011 – Wrongful death – Failure to Monitor – Weslaco

March 2011 – Jury Trial – Wrongful death – Laredo
Represented the Salazar family in lawsuit against Laredo Medical Center and local physician. Patient underwent a routine thyroid biopsy, during which she suffered a carotid artery injury in her neck due to the medical team’s failure to monitor her. Patient bled to the point of closing her airway and died from suffocation on the biopsy table. Laredo Medical Center denied responsibility and offered $10,000 in settlement on Friday before trial. Case tried to verdict in the 111th District Court – jury found hospital and physician negligent, awarding $1,150,000.
 
April 2011 – Medical malpractice – Surgery – Laredo
Represented patient who underwent surgery to remove a lump in her arm in lawsuit against surgeon after he damaged the patient’s ulnar nerve, leading to permanent disability in patient’s dominant arm. Significant settlement achieved – exact amount subject to confidentiality.
