Tyler strives to build a strong relationship with his clients right from the start. He represents clients in medical malpractice claims, business and real estate litigation matters, personal injury and wrongful death claims throughout South Texas.
Tyler graduated from Baylor University School of Law in 1994. For 30 years, he has dedicated his professional life to helping those in need of legal assistance. Tyler’s practice is focused on litigation and the courtroom. Much of his practice is dedicated to medical malpractice and personal injury matters, but he also serves the needs of local professionals and business and property owners in business and real estate litigation matters. Tyler personally handles all matters involving his clients. From the initial consultation, to email correspondences and courtroom proceedings – Tyler’s clients deal directly with him. He has practiced his entire career in the South Texas area, serving clients from Austin to San Antonio to the Texas/Mexico border. His familiarity and roots in the community help Tyler better understand his clients’ needs and the challenges they are facing.
Tyler is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. There are more than 100,000 attorneys licensed to practice in Texas. Only 7,300 are Board Certified in 25 different areas of law. As of 2023, there are only 1,482 attorneys in Texas that are Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law. That’s less than 1.5% of all attorneys in Texas! Within the Texas legal community, Board Certification means an attorney has substantial, relevant experience in personal injury law, as well as demonstrated and tested special competence in that area of law. It is proof that the attorney is experienced. From 2008 through 2023, Tyler has been selected for inclusion in Texas Super Lawyers, which is limited to the top 5% of the lawyers in the entire State of Texas. Tyler has consistently been named one of the best plaintiffs’ medical malpractice and personal injury lawyers in San Antonio by S.A. Scene Magazine during the last decade. Tyler is rated AV PREEMINENT by Martindale-Hubbell. The “A” legal ability rating means “very high to preeminent” and the “V” ethical standard rating means “very high.”
AV PREEMINENT is the highest rating available and shows that a lawyer’s peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence. Tyler is an Associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates. ABOTA is a national organization devoted to the preservation of the civil jury trial. Its member attorneys must display skill, civility and integrity for inclusion. It is an invitation only organization and currently there are only 120 members in San Antonio. Tyler is also rated “SUPERB” (9.7 out of 10 rating) on Avvo. Tyler is also licensed to represent claimants in the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program in Washington, DC. The Vaccine Injury Program permits claimants who have suffered an injury due to the administration of a vaccine to make a claim against the fund in lieu of filing a lawsuit. Tyler has tried cases to jury verdict in Bexar, Travis, Comal, Webb, Maverick, Zavala, Dimmit, Nueces, Hidalgo and Cameron Counties, as well as smaller venues in-between. He has also tried cases to jury verdict in Federal Courts in the Western and Southern Districts of Texas.
