Tyler is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  There are more than 100,000 attorneys licensed to practice in Texas.  Only 7,300 are Board Certified in 25 different areas of law.  As of 2023, there are only 1,482 attorneys in Texas that are Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law.  That’s less than 1.5% of all attorneys in Texas! Within the Texas legal community, Board Certification means an attorney has substantial, relevant experience in personal injury law, as well as demonstrated and tested special competence in that area of law. It is proof that the attorney is experienced.

From 2008 through 2023, Tyler has been selected for inclusion in Texas Super Lawyers, which is limited to the top 5% of the lawyers in the entire State of Texas. Tyler has consistently been named one of the best plaintiffs’ medical malpractice and personal injury lawyers in San Antonio by S.A. Scene Magazine during the last decade.

Tyler is rated AV PREEMINENT by Martindale-Hubbell.  The “A” legal ability rating means “very high to preeminent” and the “V” ethical standard rating means “very high.”  AV PREEMINENT is the highest rating available and shows that a lawyer’s peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence.  Tyler is an Associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates.  ABOTA is a national organization devoted to the preservation of the civil jury trial.  Its member attorneys must display skill, civility and integrity for inclusion.  It is an invitation only organization and currently there are only 120 members in San Antonio.  Tyler is also rated “SUPERB” (9.7 out of 10 rating) on Avvo.

Tyler is also licensed to represent claimants in the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program in Washington, DC. The Vaccine Injury Program permits claimants who have suffered an injury due to the administration of a vaccine to make a claim against the fund in lieu of filing a lawsuit.

Tyler has tried cases to jury verdict in Bexar, Travis, Comal, Webb, Maverick, Zavala, Dimmit, Nueces, Hidalgo and Cameron Counties, as well as smaller venues in-between.  He has also tried cases to jury verdict in Federal Courts in the Western and Southern Districts of Texas.
